Chandigarh Celebrates 51 years of Foundation with Instant Cashless Payments
Mumbai, November 2, 2017: YES BANK, India’s fifth largest private sector bank tied-up with YapApp-owned CU app, a UPI payment and chat application, to help make all transactions cashless during the Chandigarh Foundation Anniversary celebrations to be held from 1st November to 5th November, 2017.
The event which aims to connect with the youth of Chandigarh and spread awareness about the city’s rich history & developmental journey, will also for the first time give an entirely cashless payment experience to the people visiting the 5- day Festival, hosted at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
People can register for the event by downloading the CU App on Android or iOs supported mobile devices and pay for the entry ticket cashless at the registration counter. All that a user needs to do is, log into CU app, scan the QR Code displayed at the event registration desk using the app and make the payment right from their bank account. The user of the app can enter the amount which he wishes to pay and can authorize the transaction using UPI PIN. Once the user authorizes, he will receive an instant confirmation of the payment made along with Transaction ID. The entire process of payment happens instantly, without the hassle of carrying cash or a physical wallet. With CU application, visitors to the event can also buy food & beverages and other items from stalls placed in the event and avail ‘Star Night’ tickets too.
YES BANK will support around 50,000 visitors who are expected to visit the event to celebrate the 5-day festival and make Chandigarh a less-cash economy through the UPI-enabled application.
