Created a compendium of solar application case studies from ISA member countries to be distributed to visiting delegation at the Conference
New Delhi, March 11, 2018: YES BANK, India’s fourth largest private sector bank, is one of the associate organizations supporting International Solar Alliance (ISA), a treaty based international inter-Governmental alliance of 121 solar resource rich countries lying fully or partially between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, for achieving their mission of mobilizing US$ 1,000 billion by 2030 for massive deployment of solar energy.
ISA organized its Founding Conference on 11th March,2018 at the Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre, New Delhi, which was attended by 34 Heads of State/Government and ministerial delegations, from ISA member nations and very select 25 Indian industry leaders, including Mr. Rana Kapoor. The event was inaugurated by Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Honourable President of France Mr. Emmanuel Macron, the founding signatories of ISA.
YES BANK’s support to ISA comes on the back of its recent financing commitment to ISA for solar energy financing of USD 1 Bn by 2023 and USD 5 Bn by 2030 during World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi in January 2018.
While attending the ISA Founding Conference inaugural, Mr. Rana Kapoor, Managing Director & CEO, YES BANK and Chairman, YES Global Institute said, “India has taken a leadership position in Climate financing and ISA is a decisive step in augmenting this further. YES BANK is fully committed to support ISA objectives in sync with our leadership stature as India’s predominant ‘Green Bank’. I am confident that such sustained faith and trust of global institutions on YES BANK’s proven Renewable Energy credentials with a demonstrated track record have enabled us to pursue achievement of our twin targets of financing 5 GW of Renewable Energy, and mobilising USD 5 Billion for Solar Finance by 2030”.
The ISA Compendium of Solar Application case studies, ‘Together Making the Sun brighter: Select Global Cases’, prepared by YES BANK, is a compilation of 24 impactful and replicable global case studies of solar energy deployment from 20 ISA member countries. The select cases capture implementation of unique cases focusing on the four primary programs of International Solar Alliance (ISA) on Agriculture & Rural use, Affordable Finance, Solar Mini-Grids and Rooftops.
