October 6, 2016, Mumbai: Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines, Government of India, today launched a compendium of ‘Global Success Stories in Solar Energy’ prepared by YES BANK at the International Energy Conference. Shri Vijay Bhai Rupani, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Nitin Bhai Patel, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat and Shri Upendra Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy were also present at the launch.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and Government of Gujarat, the Internal Energy Conference provided a platform to Energy and Renewable Energy Ministers from across the world as well as key policy actors and industry captains to share their perspectives on the power and renewable energy scenario.

YES BANK strongly supports Government of India’s commitment to promote International Solar Alliance (ISA), launched during COP 21 in Paris, for the cause of climate justice, sustainable development and energy security for all. Towards the same, the Bank has prepared a compendium of successful and innovative stories of deployment of solar projects across the globe. Prepared by the subject matter experts in YES INSTITUTE, the practicing think tank of YES BANK, the compendium has 60 case studies of solar energy applications chosen on the basis of new technology, deployment scheme, compelling business model, unique financing structure and enabling policy framework.
Shri Piyush Goyal said, “This compendium would provide an apt reference for learning from each other’s experience and for replicating successful models and projects in various ISA nations. I am confident that this initiative in partnership with YES BANK will contribute in showing the way forward to all partner countries, and be of assistance to them in promoting solar projects”.
