Mission Document aims at promoting Andhra Pradesh as India’s most preferred tourist
Vijayawada, September 14, 2015: The Tourism Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh today launched the ‘Tourism Mission Document’, in partnership with YES BANK, India’s 5th largest private sector Bank. The Tourism Mission Document aims at promoting Andhra Pradesh (AP) as India’s most preferred tourist destination and positioning Andhra Pradesh Tourism as a global tourism brand. The document was developed by the state government in partnership with YES BANK.
The Tourism Mission Document was released by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N Chandrababu Naidu along with other state ministers, key government officers and top leaders of YES BANK, Mr. R Ravichander, Group President & Head Business Development (South) and Mr. Nikhil Sahni, Senior President - Government Relationship Management & Strategic Government Advisory.
The tourism mission document highlights emerging tourism trends, important challenges in the sector, tourism contribution to the state economy, key mission objectives defining growth targets and key strategic interventions necessary for achieving growth objectives. The document identifies major approaches for developing state tourism in addition to highlighting focus growth areas.
Releasing the report, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, said “This is a significant day for the tourism sector of Andhra Pradesh. The sector is the most important priority for the state due to its economic contribution and employment capability. The Tourism Mission & the new policy mark the start of a new growth phase for Tourism sector in Andhra Pradesh and the state government is committed to support this growth in every possible way.”
