Akbar Travels Online is one of the leading travel portals providing flight, rail, bus and hotel booking services to travel agents in India. Akbar Travels has 97 branches all over India of which 57 are approved by International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Akbar Travels faced issues such as facing significant lead time to process agent requests and to release tickets for these requests. Moreover, they needed significant manpower to do manual tracking of NEFT/RTGS along with answering calls from the travel agents. The manual intervention in all the processes increased the chances of errors such as refunds of excess payments amongst others.
The solution facilitates in the tracking of transactions in real time. It is integrated within the backend systems of YES BANK and the clients’. The integration helps in validation of transactions in real-time along with release of tickets to agents and receiving exact amounts from them instantaneously.
The process automation has allowed automated identification of agents and subsequent credit and booking which ultimately reduces call management volumes. It has also in turn automated processes at client end for entire agent blocking and booking.
There was a significant reduction in turnaround time which led to improved customer experience because of instant ticketing. The facility of instant ticketing enabled instant reconciliation of electronic receipts. There will be no mismatch in the amount of credit transferred by the agents. This eliminates the call based manual tracking which was done earlier for reconciliation. Even the ERP at the client’s end as well as any other internal processes will be automated.
