YES BANK’s team assisted the Government of Maharashtra in collating the account details of 2 lakh Anaganwadi workers over a period of 6 months by visiting six divisional offices across Maharashtra. Post the data collection, it was uploaded on the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) portal. The team then developed a customized software to digitize the fund disbursement process through PFMS. The ICDS Head Office (HO) raises the consolidated bill to Treasury based on the attendance. Post the acceptance of the bill, ICDS HO account receives the funds from the treasury and these funds are then directly transferred to the end user through the PFMS portal.
The digitization will help 553 project offices to update the attendance of more than 2 lakh Anganwadi workers on the portal in real-time. The money disbursed reaches the Aadhar-linked accounts of end users (Anganwadi Workers) through the government’s Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. The entire process will bring down the turnaround time for Anganwadi workers to receive funds from 60-90 days to 5-7 days. The Government will also reap benefits as reduced paperwork for attendance will eliminate operational inefficiencies.
