Strategic Initiatives & Advisory Government (SIG) Group, is the government advisory & development research arm within YES BANK. SIG has been working in partnership with Central government ministries, State Governments , Bilateral & Multilateral Agencies, Key Educational Institutions and Corporate Partners to identify development potential within sunrise sectors, conceptualize sustainable knowledge based projects and then develop these on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
As a division unique to the banking industry, SIG has the benefit of knowledge expertise as well as experience that enables it to perform both relationship as well as product functions. The knowledge driven interventions have been across sectors which support inclusive growth, including tourism, agriculture and social infrastructure among others. SIG works closely with the Government at the centre and at the state level; in view of the Government’s irreplaceable role, as a crucial enabler for mass development. SIG has established partnerships with Central Government Ministries and State Governments across the country. Within this domain Public Private Partnership (PPP), policy advocacy & governance reform has been a focus as the driving enabler for these efforts.
The strength of our approach lies in the capability to facilitate all stages of projects – right from conceptualization, facilitating private investment, initiating the PPPs, to finally delivering the product. Through a focused stage wise approach, SIG ensures project bankability and attracts high quality project partners both national and international. SIG also adds value through its expertise in PPP including some successful models that we have developed and implemented. This includes, pioneering the application of Public Private Partnership (PPP) principles to other ‘sunrise sectors’ such as agriculture, tourism, education and healthcare among others. Our expertise in ‘sunrise sectors’; ability to offer comprehensive PPP advisory and extensive experience in working across states has been the reason for our success in several such initiatives. SIG’s initiatives are strengthened by its capabilities as the ‘think -tank’ and the knowledge pool of YES BANK. SIG has also placed emphasis on the implementation of a unique social equity model based on PPP principles, to combat the key challenge of community participation in development initiatives across sectors. This model has evolved as the key mechanism for greater stakeholder consensus and for benefits in development ventures.
SIG has also been instrumental in the design of ‘Knowledge Reports’ through focused and strategic research and has offered visionary perspectives, documented successful interventions and highlighted investment potential. The range of knowledge and strategic research reports prepared include State Reports, Theme/ Sectoral Reports, Policy Documents, Thought Leadership & Research. Knowledge reports that have been distributed among key stakeholders and continuously disseminated through YES BANK’s extensive branch networks have been instrumental in the design of interventions by stakeholders.
