YES COMMUNITY

YES COMMUNITY is a unique Responsible Banking initiative of YES BANK that provides a single platform to engage and further synergize different sections of our society to help build a better tomorrow. Under YES COMMUNITY, our branches serve as “choupals” or knowledge exchange platforms with people residing around our branches participating in events designed to address pertinent social and environmental issues. Held every month and aimed at both children and adults, YES COMMUNITY workshops focus on issues such as environment, health and safety, civic awareness, education, pollution prevention, rain water harvesting and development of local disaster management plans amongst others.

In 2008, we adopted the ‘Planet Earth’ theme for our YES COMMUNITY events, in line with the UN International Year for Planet Earth. We covered important climate change related topics such as air pollution, water pollution, nature conservation and celebrating festivals in an eco-sensitive manner. Due to the enthusiasm and high level of participation amongst the audience we decided to continue adopting the theme for another 2 years where we partnered with the Center for Environment Education (CEE), India’s premier environmental organization focused on generating greater public awareness on environmental issues, to develop engaging and entertaining educational content on the above mentioned topics in order to truly inspire change.

These engagements under YES COMMUNITY have helped YES BANK build relations with its immediate communities that go beyond transactional banker-customer relations to engender trust. Through more than 1200 branch events since June 2008, the Bank has reached out to over 80,000 people nationwide.
